As you roam around the internet searching for properties in Westchester County there are some things you should know. Web sites are not all the same. While the great majority of homes for sale are listed on the multiple listing service they are not all listed as active for sale on all of the web sites you go to. Some sites only have their own in house listings, some have teasers and then require a sign up. Some are personal web sites of agents and only have their own listings. One is called a national MLS however this is misleading because only a small percentage of agents post their listings on this site.
On this site I have a listing search site that has all of the listings currently active on the Westchester-Putnam Multiple Listing Service. You can search for single family houses, co-op's, condo's, multi-family, rentals and land listings. If you sign up you can save your search and you will receive emails with any listings that come on the market that fall into the criteria you saved.
As you preview listings it is important to know that let's say you are looking for the Scarsdale School District that if the mailing address of the house is Scarsdale it may not be in that school district. The house could have a Scarsdale mailing address but be in the New Rochelle, Ardsley, Eastchester school districts. This is true for a lot of communities throughout Westchester County so please check the school district separately.
